Eerie Erie
3rd Annual Halloween Bash, 2001

"Creepy Means Something to Me Now..."
The Time: 6:30pm on Saturday the 27th, 2001. You may show up later, but you may miss out on some things... It should all be wrapped up by 10:30pm to 11:00pm. Because of the large number of people coming, you may NOT bring additional guests, sorry.
The Place: 2161 Madison Dr., Eerie Erie.
Groups: This year, groups are self-formed and may contain 1 to 10 people. So, you can be your own entity, but there are advantages to getting together with some of the other invited guests are forming a group. 3 to 5 is a good size. Please contact me if you are having a hard time getting in a group.
Contests: There will be multiple contests. Your group does not have to participate in every game unless otherwise noted, but must participate in at least 2 in order to be eligible to win. Some contests will be eligible for individuals to enter as well as the groups they are in. We are taking a break from the scavenger hunt this year, but feel free to bring coasters from five different restaurants if you want to. There will be prizes for best groups, best individual costumes, and maybe other items as well....
Contest 1: Dead Man's Dinner
This year, each group should bring a food item. Coordinate with Mark to see if you should bring an entree, an appetizer, or a dessert. Items will be judged on taste and how well they suit the eerie theme. Sorry, but they must be edible and sanitary. A roll of Lifesavers will not cut it either.

Contest 2: Party Pumpkins
Optionally, you may bring a carved team pumpkin(s). You may leave it at the party at the end of the night or take it home with you. The pumpkin(s) will be judged on creativity and artistic quality. If you bring more than one pumpkin and there is a shared theme, so much the better.
Contest 3: Creepy Costumes
Everyone should dress up! I mean, duh, it's Halloween! However, please be considerate and don't dress like Bin Ladden, a World Trade Tower, or anything terrorist related. Groups will be judged on creativity and execution. Did I say execution? Mwuu ha ha ha ha!!
Contest 4: Ghost Story Time
Besides gorging ourselves on fine food, this is the main event. This is your group's opportunity to shine. You will have a hard time being the 3rd Annual Halloween Champions if you do not participate in this! You may tell ghost stories that are original, or that you got from a book. You may do spoofs, funny ghosties, scary ghosties, pantomime ghosties, or whatever you like. You may have props of reasonable size. You can have a tape of recorded sounds or music to go along with your story (I'll provide the sound system and a mic if you want it). You will be asked whether the ghost story is your creation, real life, or something you got from somewhere else. Kudos will be given to original material, but most of the points will be on presentation. You can have cue cards if you need them, but without is better. If your costumes line up with your story, even better. Stories shouldn't go over 10 minutes, unless it's really good!
The goal for this is entertainment, and maybe some scares. HOWEVER, inappropriate material will be severely penalized. This includes foul language, excessively gory descriptions, and anything else that might offend people or our Lord. If you are worried that someone might not like certain content, then leave it out. Scary and creepy are okay, but disgusting and crude are not. Let's make this fun for all involved!
Note: There will be other surprises (and maybe even contests) throughout the night. Please show up on time. We will eat dinner at 7:00pm. Any questions, call me.

This is going to be a LOT of fun!
